Jazan region is part of the Tihama region, which extends along the coastline of the Red Sea from the Gulf of Aqaba in the north to the Strait of Bab el Mandeb in the south, and this coastline is divided into three geographical areas in the north called the Tihama Hijaz and in the central Tihama Asir or Tehama Almakhlav Slimani in the South Tehama Yemen .
