Perhaps one of the most prominent achievements established in the region, King Fahd connecting bridge between Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom of Bahrain, which was inaugurated in the presence of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdul Aziz of Saudi Arabia, His Highness Shaikh Isa Bin Salman Al-Khalifa, Amir of the State of Bahrain and called the bridge name King Fahd was in on Wednesday of the month of March for the year 1407 AH corresponding to 11/26/1986 m and a length of 25 km, the largest bridge in the Middle East and the second globally and longer, and the cost of its inception more than three billion riyals, and the road above the double bridge with opposite directions, each display (11.6 meters) and has two lanes and sidewalk forced to stop.
The bridge starts in the Saudi side of the Aziziyah area which is located south of Al Khobar and away from about six kilometers away, and in the Bahraini side of the bridge begins Aljasra area, which lies to the west of the capital Manama.
The bridge includes generally 5 bridges and 7 landfills and a number of concrete columns under the bridge and along its length (504 columns).
And taken into account in the design of construction of roads linking the bridge internal road network in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the State of Bahrain length of 32 km to the city of Khobar, Dhahran, and a length of 13 km until the city of Manama.
