Citizenship means a person belonging to the State of nationality, and there is a reciprocal relationship between him and the state and between him and the citizens themselves. These interrelationships consists of branched system of rights and duties, whether citizens or authority.
During the term of citizenship reflected citizens commitment to the state and society, it is not thanks to enforce the law only, but thanks to the recognition and personal commitment to it. To be a citizen means that shares in volunteer activities within the community to build a community, and also meant to contribute to political participation and involvement in various frameworks in order to influence policy in the country.
There are two ways Mtareftan in the world for citizenship, namely:
1) the method of ground rule:
Obtaining citizenship by birth in the land of the state, regardless of the nationality of the parents.
2) the method of blood rule:
Nationality are inherited from parents to children regardless of their place of birth.
Most states combine the two methods with a preference for one over the other.
In countries that accommodate immigrants preference is generally given to the rule of the land in order to create a common link between all citizens.
In countries that are trying to maintain the character of the state and the national one - like Israel - the majority they give preference to the way the blood rule.
